One of the biggest surprises from The Game Awards was certainly the release of Final Fantasy 16 DLC titled Echoes of the Fallen.

The DLC reintroduces Clive Rosfield and brings in new chapters to enrich the epic narrative of the game. The trailers unveil an extension of the dynamic combat that made the base game so thrilling, featuring new adversaries to confront.

As detailed in a PlayStation blog post, the DLC not only offers additional chapters but also raises the level cap and introduces new weapons, battles, and accessories. Among the included weapons is the iconic Buster Sword. Moreover, there's a delightful musical addition in the form of the "Away (1987)" Orchestrion Roll, enabling a chip-tune rendition of the song "Away" to serve as background music in the hideaway.

That’s not all - another DLC titled "The Rising Tide" is set to be released in Spring 2024. While we don’t have any specific details at the moment, we know that the DLC will introduce new challenges and feature a confrontation between Clive and the legendary Eikon, Leviathan.

Both DLCs are paid but looking at what they have to bring to the table, I think they are well worth the price tag. You sure have my money, Square Enix!
