One Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone is super busy at the moment working on the next update for Stardew Valley. He's taking his time to ensure that the patch is ready for launch but he also dropped a firm note letting us know that progress is being made all the time. We also got a little teaser of what we should expect going forward.

Barone shared a screenshot from the game, showing off the new “Big Chest” in update 1.6. The developer “self-imposed” a crunch mode to get the patch up and running and they made a “ton of progress” just last month.

We don’t have a lot of information at the moment because the team wants to keep “mostly everything secret”, but nonetheless, we’ll learn more once the update eventually rolls out.

The creator is very passionate about Stardew Valley and with good reason. The game is critically acclaimed and it’s certainly one of the best indie games released in recent history. When asked why he keeps on working on the game, he said: “I want it to be the best it can be,” adding that “it’s been my life’s work and I care a lot about it.”

Stardew Valley is now available on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile platforms.
