As you’re probably aware by now, Metroid Prime Remastered launched digitally on February 8 and it was supposed to arrive physically on February 22 but many retailers didn’t get shipments, and players who wanted a physical copy ended up being overrun by sell-out runs from bots and scalpers. Not the first Nintendo physical release drama, but there is light waiting at the end of the tunnel.

Nintendo of America issued a statement via Nintendo Life and they noted that they are fully aware of the problem. As it stands, they intend to keep the game in stock (at least) in the near future:

“We will do everything we can to meet the strong demand for the product. Please continue to check with major retailers for availability. If the Metroid Prime Remastered game sells out at various retail locations in the U.S., we will work to provide more units as soon as possible.”

This is really all the reassurance that I needed. If you didn’t get a physical copy of the game yet, don’t worry, you should get a new opportunity soon.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that Nintendo addresses the issue as soon as possible!
