During the recent Nintendo Direct, Motion Twin revealed the release date for the upcoming DLC for their 2018 Rogue-Lite platformer, Dead Cells, which is launching on March 6, 2023. As the name suggests, Return to Castlevania brings us back to the lovely (yet gloomy) world of Castlevania and it allows us to team up with Richter Belmont and Alucard in order to take down Dracula, and even Death himself.

Just looking at the video below, you can see that the DLC draws heavy inspiration from Castlevania: Symphony of the night. Locations, bosses, and even the music itself have all been “borrowed” from the iconic franchise and shoehorned into Dead Cells. The visuals look so fitting and they’re a real treat for one’s eyes. The appearance of Alucard and Richter is a very welcome addition indeed and the boss fight against Dracula feels just as epic as you can imagine.

Dead Cells is available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices. The Return to Castlevania DLC will launch on March 6 and you’ll be able to pick it up for just $9.99.
