The video lasts for roughly 3 minutes and it shows our heroes Sonic, Amy, and Tails chilling, before being sucked into a dimensional portal to Cyber Space and ending up on the Starfall Islands. We then move to a mechanical perspective, we can see the game’s open world (also referred to as “open-zone platforming”) in its full glory. The video also tells us that we have “the freedom to play the game in the order that matches your playstyle.” And lastly, we’re also getting a good overview of the combat system and in-game puzzles.
You’ll be defeating bosses to earn “Portal Gears,” which unlock the Cyber Space stages. Once you finish challenges therein, you’ll also earn keys that you will use to unlock Chaos Emerald vaults and “progress farther in the game.” I really like this concept, I have to say.
