THQ Nordic have announced that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Biomutant are coming out on September 6.

The next-gen versions of Biomutant will be free for anyone who already purchased the original game and they will add HDR support 4K resolution, and a frame rate that goes “up to 60fps.”

The new versions will also feature three different graphical modes: Quality, Quality Unleashed, and Performance. If you own a PS5, you can also expect to see Activity Cards and DualSense features (they are always useful for games like these).

Biomutant was initially released back in 2021, and it was a very unusual game from day 1, to say the least. It’s a game that takes direct inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is a good thing. But it also has quite a repetitive combat and it quickly loses its touch. Still, its sheer uniqueness makes the game stand out, and it is certainly worth a try.
