Intercept Games have announced yet another delay for their upcoming spaceflight simulation sequel, Kerbal Space Program 2.

In an update posted on the game’s official forum, creative director Nate Simpson explained the reasons for the delay - “We are building a game of tremendous technological complexity, and are taking this additional time to ensure we hit the quality and level of polish it deserves. We remain focused on making sure KSP2 performs well on a variety of hardware, has amazing graphics, and is rich with content.”

As a result, the game will now launch in early 2023 on PC. The Xbox and PlayStation versions will follow later in the year. Nate also thanked all fans for their patience and continued support so far.

The sequel was initially announced back in 2019 and it’s gone through a few development studio changes along the way, before the original game’s studio got merged with a new team by Private Division. The new Intercept Games team then gave the previous release target of 2022 by November of 2020. We’re promised more information in the coming months.

Kerbal Space Program 2 will launch on PC in early 2023 and the consoles later that year.
