During an Inside Xbox presentation at this year's Gamescom, The Coalition gave us a glimpse of how Gears 5's Horde Mode will look like, and the biggest highlight is that every character will have their own unique Ultimate.

The basic concept is the same - blast through hordes of enemies and build fortifications as a safety measure. The additional twist is that now, just like in other hero shooters, you can ramp up your Ultimate meter and use the ability to deliver that crucial killing blow.

Each hero has a different Ultimate. Fahz can use x-ray vision, J.D. can annihilate all foes with deadly airstrikes, Kait can become invincible by using the cloak, and Jack can hijack his enemies by making them fight one another. We've seen most of this stuff in other games like Overwatch for example, but it's still a great addition nonetheless.

Gears 5 is coming out on September 10 on Xbox One and PC, but those of you with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription can access the game on September 6 already.
