According to Netflix, they compete with Fortnite more than HBO
Well, can't say that I'm surprised.
Netflix have issued a statement where they noted that Fortnite is a much bigger threat for them than HBO. The fact itself is astonishing at first, but hardly surprising. Fortnite is an iconic game and its popularity, even though it's super-high already, is growing exponentially!
In an IGN interview, they've admitted that battle royale giant is giving them some real headaches as it has more screen time than their TV shows. Can you imagine that? Yes, HBO is more of a competition to Netflix than one video game but, in terms of screen time, it's a contender that one has to beat.
"We earn consumer screen time, both mobile and television, away from a very broad set of competitors. We compete with (and lose to) Fortnite more than HBO", said HBO. Even though they have more than 130 million subscribers annually, obviously, they need to ramp up their screen time.
What is the next major record that Fortnite could break? Who knows really, anything is possible.
