Final Fantasy VII remake director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that development is well underway and any rumors of the remake being discontinued are entirely false.

In an interview that he gave for Famitsu, he noted than Kingdom Hearts 3 is now the top priority but Final Fantasy VII remake is still doing just great. I mean, yeah, nearly four years passed since its announcement but.....yeah, the development is underway.

Here's what he said: " There's been some misinformation regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake in some parts of the Internet so I wanted to touch up on that a little. That [speculation] is not official. As I said during E3, development is going favorably. I just wanted to say that the current PR priority is Kingdom Hearts III but after that it'll be Final Fantasy VII Remake, so please don't worry".

Let's hope that we will find out more about the actual release date in the near future, but at least we know that they haven't forgotten about the project along the way.
