Virgin Interactive Entertainment changes its name!!!

Got this email announcing a name change for Virgin Interactive Entertainment, which will now be known as Avalon Interactive. This will basically affect any games distributed in Europe. I really find it odd, there is nothing wrong with Virgin Interactive Entertainment!!!

Oh well here is the email:

Paris, France, June 30, 2003 - Titus Interactive announced today that Virgin Interactive Entertainment, its 100% distribution subsidiary, is changing its name.

From now on, all games developed by the Group (Titus / Interplay) will be distributed in Europe through the new brand: AVALON INTERACTIVE.

For the second semester of 2003, AVALON INTERACTIVE will proposed to the customers the following line up:

- Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 Playstation 2 and Xbox,

- Barbarian Playstation2, Xbox, GameCube and Gameboy Advance,

- Fallout Brotherhood of Steel Playstation2 and Xbox

- Galleon Xbox and PC,

- Hunter GameCube,

- Lionheart PC,

- Robocop Playstation2, Xbox and Game Boy Advance,

- Run Like Hell Playstation2 and Xbox,

- Top Gun Combat Zones Gameboy Advance.

The new brand will become operative on July 1st, 2003.
