Nitro
The NITRO function is critical to mastering Z-Race. NITRO points are collected as you race and can be seen on your HUD. NITRO is activated by pressing A on the controller. Upon activation, it drains the NITRO reserves and gives the ship a massive boost in acceleration. Activation on a full NITRO gives an extended period of burst, for insane levels of speed! Use NITRO wisely, and win races. Waste it, and you'll lose a lot more than the race!
Manual Gear Shift
Mastering the Gear Shift in Z-Race is absolutely essential. Luckily, it's easy to grasp the process. The trigger moves you up the gears, and the grip button moves you down. Still, entering a Zen-like state with your gear shift will take some effort. Those that perfect it will rise up the leaderboards quickly!
Energy traps
Avoid the Energy Traps! Otherwise, your ship will be slowed dramatically. Nothing will ruin your run faster than slamming into an Energy Trap at top speed.
Airbrakes
Often taken for granted, Airbrakes are a key aspect to Z-Race. When racing around corners at high speed, you can activate your airbrakes to help steady your racer. Airbrakes also come in handy for helping players dodge energy traps.
