One mechanic involves breaking the barbarian's shield with a combo. You must first inflict burning and slow, then you will be able to break its shield with lightning. Also, tower placements are paramount because slow projectiles will miss if enemies move too fast. Upgrade your best placed towers to maximize your resources.
