911 Dispatcher is a story-driven, text-based PC game about the challenging and difficult work of an emergency line operator. Your decisions will determine the fate of the people on the other end of the line; a single mistake can cost someone’s life. No pressure.
You will fully experience the burden that rests upon a 911 dispatcher’s shoulders. The core of the game is a heavy psychological thriller that repeats call after call. How do you calm a man about to commit suicide? What instructions will you give to a young woman when someone breaks into her home? Who do you send a police car to, if only one is available in the area?
Each call will have between two and six endings, dependent on your decisions. And after it’s all over, you’ll have to live with yourself, knowing that you could have saved a person’s life, but made the wrong choice…
Your capabilities are not infinite, and you won’t be able to help everyone. You’ll only have a limited number of police cars at your your disposal; dispatch officers to a prank call, and they may not make it back in time to help a domestic violence victim.
But it’s not all doom and gloom though. Statistically, 95% of all 911 calls come from drunks, idiots, and lunatics. Of course we’ll have plenty of calls like that as well. Some will make you smile, others will make you laugh, yet others will piss you off even more.
As mentioned above, you will get the full experience of being an emergency dispatcher. :)
At release, expect at least ten drawn out and serious calls with difficult decisions and consequences, and at least twenty shorter and more lighthearted ones.
