Nintendo have announced that Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age are coming to Nintendo Switch Online on January 17.

During the Game Boy Advance era, I was deeply immersed in Golden Sun. Launched in 2001, the same year as the Game Boy Advance, the game kept me hooked with its impressive graphics on the immensely powerful handheld console of that time. I recall immersing myself in the soundtrack while repeatedly banging my head with headphones on max volume. Oh, sweet joy!

The Lost Age impressed me even more, especially with the ability to carry over my progress with a simple password. The direct narrative continuation of the sequel makes the whole experience even more enjoyable with the game looking even more colossal and awe-inspiring. I was almost a diehard fan at this point.

Anecdotally, I never played the third game on the DS but I do plan to fix that error sooner rather than later. In any case, this really is a golden…I mean, Golden opportunity, to check out the first two games if you haven’t done so back in the day when they initially launched on Game Boy Advance.
