Once a very popular mobile game, Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia will be shutting down its servers on February 29, 2024. It is not certain if you can play the game offline or not, but it doesn’t seem very likely.

“To our loyal players, It is with deep regret that we inform you that Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia will end service on Feb. 29, 2024, UC,” said Square Enix on the game’s official Twitter page. “We would like to thank you for your many years of support, and hope you can enjoy playing for a little while longer.”

Meanwhile, upcoming events are still happening on schedule. The Cactuar Cacophony will be running until February 29 and you will be getting the following:

  • Dare to Defy Astraeus (Now until February 29)

  • Dusk to Dawn: Evil Gazes at Dusk (Now until January 1)

  • Dare to Defy Nyx (January 1 to February 29)

  • Dusk to Dawn: Ogres Parade the Night (January 1 – February 1)

  • 6th Anniversary Special 50+1 Draw (January 31 – February 29)

  • Dare to Defy Eos (February 1 -February 29)

Most people, understandably, don’t support this move and several of them note that this was a well-received game and had potential for much more.

We’ve already had a number of Final Fantasy games that were pulled down from mobile devices, and sadly, the trend continues with this one. Speaking of which, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier also got shot down in January 2023 after lasting just over one year.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is still being actively supported, but given the recent developments, one has to be ready for everything.
