The sequel to the top-down strategy game Wargroove, Wargroove 2, just got a brand-new trailer and release date during the recent Nintendo Direct. As the footage shows, the game will launch on Nintendo Switch and PC on October 5.

The trailer dedicates a portion of its runtime to showcase the game's narrative, which revolves around brand new groups that players will have to confront. The game will let us take full control over the land, sea, and skies as we strive for ultimate triumph. Additionally, the trailer takes a moment to emphasize the concept of "supercharged grooves," which are basically finishing moves specific to each Commander. These abilities include "Powerful Form," "Raise Dead," and "Chain Reaction."

And if that’s not enough, we’ll also have the opportunity to enhance our units using a variety of items that are discoverable during live battles. In the trailer, a character, amidst the heat of combat, skillfully retrieves a sword from the battlefield. This suggests that Wargroove 2 will give us the creative freedom to craft our own maps, design campaigns, and even make engaging cutscenes, all via an enhanced system that surpasses the capabilities of the original Wargroove.

Wargrove 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC on October 5.
