Nintendo have announced that they are coming back to the 99-player with the SNES version of F-Zero. And at the time of writing of this text,


The recognizable flat, mode-7 landscapes now got a new a brand new life. We can see the boost meter from later games in this iteration as well, and rather than getting a certain number of turbo boosts (like in the SNES version of the game), we have an identical system coped from F-Zero X where we can sacrifice the shield to get some additional speed.


There’s also a brand new feature called “super sharks”. They will litter the track, and if we collect enough of them to fill the meter, we’ll be sent up to the “Skyway”. This is a special track above the normal one that gives us the ability to run away from the human-clutter track and get ahead.
