The Sega Genesis game Gargoyles is getting ready for a remaster
Dreaming for thousands of years may not be such a bad idea after all.
Disney have announced that the 1995 Sega Genesis platformer, Gargoyles, is getting a full-blown remaster and it’s coming to Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19, 2023.
The Gargoyles initially launched in 1995 exclusively on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. The game was alright but it was far from being a classic. I’d say it’s pretty much in the same boat as 1995’s Toy Story. A licensed game that is worthy of your attention but nothing spectacular really.
Unlike Disney’s earlier 16-bit re-releases, Gargoyles Remastered will be getting a full art style update as well as a soundtrack upgrade. You can also switch off the modern makeover if you prefer looking at 16-bit visuals instead.
Gargoyles Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 19, 2023. A physical version will also be available on Limited Run Games.
