As a part of the latest ID@Xbox Showcase, Digital Eclipse have revealed that they are working on an interactive documentary related to the 1984 classic brawler by Prince of Persia designer Jordan Mechner, Karateka. The title is “The Making of Karateka”. Simple and straightforward.
The documentary will include different versions of the game, never-before-seen prototypes, and even a brand-new remake of the game. On top of that, the studio will also provide Deathbounce: Rebounded, a dual-stick shooter based on an unfinished prototype by Jordan Mechner.
And that’s not all - The Making of Karateka is just the starting point for Digital Eclipse’s Gold Masters Series. I am so looking forward to seeing what else they will come up with in the future.
The showcase revealed that the documentary will be available on Xbox Series X|S, but the studio confirmed that it is also coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC at some point “this summer”.
