SNK have announced that their upcoming update will be bringing a much-needed rollback netcode update to their sword-swinging blockbuster, Samurai Shodown, this summer on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Yes, we have a small delay, unfortunately.

The studio issued a statement on the matter saying: “SNK has been hard at work on the rollback netcode update for Samurai Shodown, originally slated for a spring 2023 release. The 1st Community Beta Test offered us great insight as to what we needed to improve. However, as a result of various setbacks and extenuating circumstances during development and in light of our ongoing efforts to further enhance player experience, we have made the decision to push back the official release of the update to late summer 2023.”

The studio added that they will be holding a second Community Beta Test at some point this month to  fine-tune the new online experience and analyze data even further.

Samurai Shodown is available now on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
