Team 17 have revealed a roadmap for Black Salt Games’ indie gem, Dredge, and it continues through to the end of the year. While many of these additions could rightfully be considered “small”, it concludes with a small DLC at the end of the year.

First up, we have map markers. It is a bit strange that this feature wasn’t already present in the game, but it’s better to get it late than never, so I certainly welcome the addition.

Next, we have a photo mode, yet another addition that was highly needed. You’ll get this feature from a character in-game and you’ll be able to use it to find new wildlife to snap photos of. As a part of the mentioned update, you’ll also be able to turn off the aggressive behavior of certain sea monsters, which is really sweet.

Then, in Q3, we’ll be getting a full-blown boat customization, which will open so many new ways to be creative. And lastly, at the end of the year, Black Salt Games will release a paid DLC for Dredge focusing on a mysterious corporation known as Ironhaven. Even though they claim they are investing in drilling operations to revitalize the area’s towns, their real intentions are much worse. Nonetheless, you will have to aid them with building up their facilities while uncovering their secrets.

Dredge is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.
