Hi-Rez Studios have announced that they will be ending their service for the Nintendo Switch version of their free-to-play shooter Rogue Company this summer. The lights will go off for good on June 20, 2023. As of today, all in-game stores have been closed.

The studio issued the following statement on the matter: “After a lot of discussion, thought, and conversations across our team, we’ve made the difficult decision for Rogue Company to end support for our Nintendo Switch version, with our final date of support being June 20. This choice wasn’t made easily or without concern for our community, however, we realized that the performance of our Switch port was not up to our standards, and we were unable to provide the level of support our players deserved.”

“We understand the impact this decision may have on our community and would like to assure you that we have worked diligently to find workarounds for various Switch-specific issues in the past. Unfortunately, significant technical and process challenges prevent us from continuing support for this platform, and we believe this is the best choice for Rogue Company.”

The developer also adds that they are planning to fully focus on the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC versions of Rogue Company in the future while suggesting that Switch players utilize the account linking/cross-progression service to continue playing on another platform with all the data and content from their Switch edition.

Rogue Company launched an open beta in late 2020, before getting a full release last May. The game is currently available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, though it may drop on mobile platforms at some point in the future.
