For quite a while, Nintendo took a very silent approach to address the numerous “Joy-Con drift” Switch hardware issues, but at one point, the number of impacted consumers was starting to get overwhelming and they reacted by offering free repairs. In the beginning, both Europe and the UK did this on a case-by-case basis, but now we have a more sweeping statement on Nintendo’s EU support pages. Both regions are getting a small deal-sweetener this month.

The full statement from Nintendo of Europe reads as follows:

“Nintendo takes great pride in creating high-quality and durable products and is continuously making improvements to them. Therefore and until further notice, Nintendo offers to consumers who purchased the respective product in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland that repairs for responsiveness syndrome relating to control sticks will be conducted at no charge by official Nintendo repair centers.”

Nintendo even calls this “so-called drifting” or “responsiveness syndrome”, which is very fitting when you think about it.
