Supermassive Games have announced that their upcoming VR title The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR no longer meets the previously announced February 22 release date and the game is now rescheduled for launch on March 16 on the PSVR2.

The studio issued a press statement saying: “It has always been our aim to release in the launch window of the new PlayStation VR2 headset but it is also massively important to us that you, the players, receive the most polished, terrifying experience possible when you strap in for your first ride in  The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR With this in mind, we have made the difficult decision to set a new launch date of March 16, 2023.”

Described as Supermassive’s “most ambitious virtual reality project to date”, Switchback VR will give us a highly immersive, atmospheric, and rather scary 3D world to plunge ourselves in. We’ll get to ride a rollercoaster through five distinct regions heavily inspired by the studio’s horror anthology series, The Dark Pictures. So yeah, you can expect to see monsters from Man of Medan, Little Hope, House of Ashes, and The Devil in Me (the most recent release).

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is coming to PSVR2 on March 2. PSVR2 will launch worldwide on February 22 and will be priced at $550.
