Oscar Isaac still hopes that the Metal Gear Solid movie will soon become a reality.

Speaking in an interview with ComicBook.com, the Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Star Wars star spoke of his ambition to make a high-quality movie set in the Metal Gear Solid universe.

“We want it to happen. Be excited. What’s the script? What’s the story? What’s the take? […] Hopeful that comes to fruition because there’s so much potential for that. It’s an incredible game. It’s my favorite.”

There have been rumors of a big-screen adaptation of the iconic PlayStation masterpiece ever since its 1998 release. Right now, the chances of that happening seem more likely than ever, with Isaac on board to star and Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer, Kong: Skull Island) appointed to direct. With only a couple of names on deck, and no production schedule or release window in sight, we will likely have to wait a couple more some years before we potentially see this movie in our theatres.

Arm yourselves with patience, you will need it.
