A new Legan of Kain survey has just popped up and it could give us a glimpse of the future of the franchise based on what the results will look like.

The first Legacy of Kain hit the market back in 1996 before exploding in 1999 with Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, and then ending the era in 2003 in a rather infamous way with Defiance. There have been some attempts to reanimate the series in a multiplayer form but they ultimately failed. But since Crystal Dynamics bought the IP and paid to be a part of the Embracer Group, this subject became relevant again.

Here are the five major Legacy of Kain games that the survey focuses on:

  • Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (1996)

  • Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (1999)

  • Soul Reaver 2 (2001)

  • Blood Omen 2 (2002)

  • Legacy of Kain: Defiance (2003)

And these are the question topics covered in the survey:

* Have you ever seen someone stream a Legacy of Kain game?

  • How would you rate each game you’ve played in the series?

  • What are your favorite parts about the series (mechanically and thematically)?

  • Who is your favorite protagonist (Kain or Raziel)?

  • What would your reaction to a new “vampire game” be?

  • Do you want to see a sequel, remake, reboot, or remaster?

  • Do you want a theoretical game to be single or multiplayer (co-op is also an option)?

What does the future hold for the franchise? Time will tell!
