Waiting for the sequel to Ubisoft’s 2003 classic, Beyond Good & Evil, can be compared to the narrative seen in Waiting for Godot, and with good reason. Seems like other people recognize that fact as well since, as of this day, Beyond Good & Evil 2 is considered to be the longest-awaited AAA game of all time.

The previous record-holder in this category was Duke Nukem Forever. The game was announced back in 1997 and we had to wait for more than 14 years to see its eventual release in 2011. That’s 5156 days in total! Beyond Good & Evil 2 was announced in 2008, and as of the writing of this post, we are waiting for 5236 days for the game to see the light of the day. It seems like we won’t be getting any new updates any time soon either.

Some Reddit users have pointed out that once we get to a point where we wait for certain games to come out for so long, they become some kind of urban legend. And certainly, Beyond Good & Evil 2 fits that criteria along with the likes of Half Life 3. We’ll see which of these two will see the light of the day first.
