Judgement is a game that is so inspirational for modders. It was clear and obvious that people will start messing around with the source code and bring all kinds of amusing additions to the table. In that regard, we have a new mod that restores the voice and the appearance of actor Pierre Taki who was removed from the game shortly after launch.

The controversy originated back in the spring of 2019 when the (then) 51-year-old actor was arrested for cocaine use. Even though no illicit substances were found at his home, the actor was positive when he got tested for samples. Japan’s drug laws are among the world’s most stringent, and this event caused Sega to immediately suspend sales of the game to remove Taki from his role as captain, Kyohei Hamura. At one point later, Judgment would return to the market with Hamura sporting a brand new face and a new voice as well.

And now a modder Timo654 has managed to dig into the game’s source code and brought a PlayStation mod to now work with the new PC/Steam launch. The Pierre Taki mod for Judgment can be accessed via the official NexusMods website, and it is compatible with the popular trainer Ryu Mod Manager, which is used for the modding of games in the Ryu ga Gotoku franchise.

To conclude Taki’s story, we should add that the Tokyo District Court sentenced him to 18 months in jail for cocaine use but he still continued to work in film and television nonetheless.
