Leoful have announced that PiXEL’s 16-bit adventure Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon’s Fist is heading west on Nintendo Switch, following its quiet release on PC in 2019. The Switch port is expected to launch before the end of 2022 but we are yet to get a specific release date.

Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon’s Fist (originally titled Fire Dragon Fist Master Xiao-Mei), is an ultra-retro scrapper inspired by the first scrolling brawler ever - the 1984 classic Kung Fu Master. Operating on a simple 2D plane, you will take the role of young martial arts specialist and you will have to fight your way through a relentless throng of bandits, monsters, and different kinds of scary missions to save your sister Xiaoyin from the evil Dark Dragon.

The Nintendo Switch port launched in Japan this May and it features some tweaks and improvements from the original PC release (like new cutscenes, improved sound effects, a remixed soundtrack, a gallery mode, and even an alternate mode featuring Xiaoyin herself). composed by Sega veteran Hirofumi Murasaki, (of Shinobi III and Dragon Force fame). This is definitely the best opportunity to jump in and experience the world of frantic (but fun) world of Xiaomei.

Xiaomei and the Dragon’s Fist will launch in the west on Nintendo Switch later this year.
