Embark Studios have announced that they will be delaying the launch of their upcoming free-to-play multiplayer shooter, Arc Raiders.

As stated on the game’s official Twitter account, the game is now supposed to launch in 2023.

“Arc Raiders is an ambitious game, and we will be using this extra time to expand the experience and allow it to reach its fullest potential. We will be diving into more details as soon as we start to test the game more extensively with players.”

Studio founder and former EA executive Patrick Soderlund went into (even) more details in a blog post:

“As you may be aware. Embark has several projects in development. Beyond Arc Raiders, we’re also working on a team-based first-person shooter, codenamed Project Discovery. We’ve got a number of super talented people with ample FPS experience here at Embark, and the development of Project Discovery has progressed faster than we first imagined, especially over the past few months.”

Arc Raiders will be a co-op third-person action shooter set on a planet ruled by an alien robot menace known as ARC and it will have you taking the role of a member of the resistance force called Raiders. Along the way, you’ll get to wield a bunch of cool weapons and gadgets and you’ll have to rely on fly tactics and teamwork to beat your foes.

Arc Raiders is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at some point in 2023. Meanwhile, you can check out this gameplay trailer below:
