Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie is coming to our theatres in December 2024

I think most of us can universally agree that both Sonic the Hedgehog movies are amazing. They’re arguably the best video game movies ever made. The box office speaks for itself (screw the critics, they know nothing). Since Sonic 2 was a massive success and since we got THAT ending (don’t want to spoil it here for those who still didn’t watch it)…it was obvious that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie is coming at some point.
We have no details on the plot, the cast, or the crew at this point, but of course, I expect to see Ben Schwartz, Idris Elba, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey coming back as Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails respectively. Hopefully, we will get to see Jim Carrey returning as Dr. Robotnik as well. I think Jeff Fowler is pretty much guaranteed as the director for this sequel as well.
The first Sonic movie came to our theatres just when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020 and it was a massive success, pulling in $319 million from the box office. The sequel that arrived in April this year managed to improve upon its predecessor in…pretty much every regard and it managed to earn $402 million globally, which is a record to beat.
