Bandai Namco have dropped a new trailer for Digimon Survive, showing off the game’s exploration and unique battle system. The game is a mix of visual storytelling and it’s set to launch on July 29.

The blurb says the following:

“Digimon Survive blends visual novel storytelling with tactical battle elements! From the power of choice to the power of Digivolution, take a look at Digimon Survive’s gameplay system!”

Digimon Survive features a branching-narrative system and some awesome-looking visual novel stylings. The decisions you bring throughout the game matter a lot and they will affect the way some of your Digimon evolve, which is a neat touch. Remember how Tai messed things up in Digimon Adventure 1, which caused Greymon to digivolve into SkullGreymon? Yeah, you better watch out!

Naturally, Digimon battles are a huge part of the game and Digimon Survive lets you recruit enemy Digimon to your team by negotiating with them. A huge thumbs up for introducing a psychological dimension that Pokémon can only dream of.

After being initially announced back in 2018, Digimon Survive got several delays before getting the final release date this July. You can check out the trailer below:
