Atlus have announced that their long-awaited jRPG Shin Megami Tensei V has reached an incredible milestone, passing one million sales and digital downloads since launch on Nintendo Switch back in autumn 2021.

Having been initially teased back in January 2017, the new entry in the long-running series had a tough road ahead of itself. However, after being launched in November 2021, the game was massively praised by both the critics and the community itself, so seeing these numbers now comes as no surprise.

We take control of a young school student and his friends as they all get carried away to an alternative, post-apocalyptic iteration of Tokyo known as “Da’at.” There, our hero learns about the ongoing conflict between humanity and demons as they fight for the fate of existence. It is up to us now to make careful political (and strategic) decisions to shape the new world the way we want.

Shin Megami Tensei V is available right now on Nintendo Switch.
