Assemble Entertainment have just dropped a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming time-travelling adventure XEL.
You take control of a character named Reid who finds herself on a mysterious planet with no memory of who she is or where she comes from. The quest will have Reid exploring these strange new surroundings to find out XEL’s secrets, linked to space and time itself.
What we have here is a top-down 3D action-adventure with a combat system that uses dodges, parrying & gadgets. As you can expect, time travel is a major factor here, so you’ll have to use this power to solve puzzles as you explore many of the game’s challenging dungeons. Eventually, Reid will also meet a bunch of unusual characters on her journey. Some of them will be friendly and others…eeeh, not as much.
XEL is coming out this summer on Nintendo Switch and PC. Assemble Entertainment have also promised the game will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, but those releases are coming “later” in 2022. You can check out the trailer below:
