Ubisoft have delayed the launch of their upcoming free-to-play derby game Roller Champions.

We haven’t heard much about the game since the closed beta ended last year. And this particular announcement didn’t make it to the game’s official social media platforms either. Instead, Tom Henderson posted an image of it on the game’s official Discord server.

And here’s what it says: “After evaluating every possible scenario, the team has concluded that they will need a bit more time to deliver the successful game you deserve. We believe it’s the right decision to properly honor your excitement (and our own!) for the game and the competitive scene you’ve started around our Beta”. So, as a result, the game will now launch in late Spring.

Roller Champions was initially announced back in 2019. The game will see two teams of three rollerbladers going against one another in an arena-based competition. The teams will be faced with a series of goals that bring plenty of points. In order to score, you’ll have to take possession of a ball and take it through the goals. The official beta launched back in February 2021 and lasted a month with the game promising to launch in ‘early 2021’. Yet, we haven’t heard anything worth mentioning since then.

Stay patient until spring everyone. In the meantime, let’s hope we will learn more about the game itself.
