Want more Final Fantasy VII? Folks from Square Enix have great news for you! As confirmed by the producer Yoshinori Kitase and creative director on this remake project Tetsuya Nomura, we will be seeing new Final Fantasy VII projects in the near future. Awesome news!

The announcement marks the 35th overall anniversary of Final Fantasy and the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII. Times flies so quickly, doesn’t it?

Kitase refers to the game as something he always thought of as a “recent game,” but it’s now considered a classic entry. He also mentions the recent Japanese poll that voted FFVII as the third most popular game ever created, and then he talks about its freshness and the FFVII projects Remake and First Soldier.

Nomura adds that he is grateful for the fans that have accumulated over these past couple of decades and change and he reminds of Ever Crisis’ existence. He also drops sweet a note at the end:

“And there will be even more new FFVII projects that started up after the remake coming in the future too.”

I am still having a blast with Final Fantasy VII and I’m glad to know that we will be getting more of it in the future. Keep them coming, folks!
