SNK Corp have unveiled the latest roster addition to the upcoming beat-em-up King of Fighters XV and that is Maxima.
He is part man, and part machine and he’s been a regular character in the series since The King of Fighters ’99: Millennium Battle. It’s his metal suit that gives him superhuman strength and makes him one of the strongest fighters in the game for sure.
Here’s what the blurb says: “Maxima is a cyborg remodeled by NESTS. With 80% of his body comprised of machinery, he is equipped with weaponry everywhere. His fighting ability is far beyond that of any human. As a loyal intellectual full of heart, he also understands K’ well.”
The fighters in The King of Fighters XV belong to three-person teams, and Maxima is no exception there. He belongs to the K’ (pronounced “K-dash”) team, and as a genetically modified human, he can manipulate fire with his special glove. He also relies on his paranormal whip to smack his opponents.
The King of Fighters XV is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on February 17, 2022. You can check out the Maxima trailer below:
