A direct sequel to the original Sonic the Hedgehog movie now has an official poster, and as we’ve been told, it will be getting its first trailer by Friday as well.
The poster features Sonic and Jim Carey’s Dr. Robotnik who looks almost exactly the same as Dr. Robotnik that we know from the gaming series We can also see Tails flying his iconic biplane, which signals that he will have an important role to play in the sequel.
Speaking of casting, we know that Colleen O’Shaughnessey will be providing the voice of Tails. This isn’t the first time she is voicing the young squirrel as she also voiced him in several other games as well as the animated series Sonic Boom.
The official trailer will premiere during The Game Awards this Friday. On top of that, Geoff Keighley has confirmed that we are in for a “Sonic double header”, which means there will be more Sonic news down the line as well. Oh boy, the hype is real!
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie is coming to our cinemas on April 8. The first movie has set quite a high bar, becoming the highest-grossing video game movie ever. Let’s see if the sequel can repeat the success.
