Tetris 99 is getting a Monster Hunter Rise Grand Prix event this weekend

Nintendo have announced that the next Tetris 99 Grand Prix will take place this weekend and it will feature Monster Hunter Rise.

The 25th iteration of the free-to-play puzzle battle royale series of collaborations finds them teaming with Capcom. It will see the board, pieces, music, and more all given a Monster Hunter Rise appropriate makeover. If you are unfamiliar with the format, playing games will grant you points with more points given for higher finishes. Collect 100 points before the event concludes and you can keep the theme permanently.

These last couple of weeks were very busy for Capcom’s latest entry in the Monster Hunter series. Just last week, they’ve announced a PC release date for Monster Hunter Rise along with new features like 4K support. We’re also getting a Ghosts and Goblins crossover before the new Sunbreak expansion arrives next summer. So much content!

Meanwhile, Tetris 99 had plenty of Grand Prixes to offer in the past. They included collaborations with WarioWare: Get it Together! and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD (to name a few). The Tetris 99 Monster Hunter Rise Grand Prix event will go live at 8 AM UK time on October 8 and it will run until October 12 at 7:59 AM.
