Nintendo have announced that the beloved Kirby is coming back in a new adventure with Kirby and the Forgotten Land coming this spring for the Nintendo Switch. The news was confirmed on the recent Nintendo Direct.


The game will mark the series first fully 3D entry as opposed to the usual 2.5D side-scrollers that we were used to in the past. The trailer shows our beloved Kirby washing up on the beach of the titular Forgotten Land and it appears to be a mysterious place with remnants of a past civilization and long-abandoned shopping malls. It’s up to our hero to investigate the island and find out more.


All of the familiar abilities are present in this game as well (yes, you will be able to inhale enemies and throw them as projectiles once again). But, we are getting some new abilities as well (you will see some of them in the trailer, I don’t want to spoil anything). There’s even a nod to Link from The Legend of Zelda. It looks so awesome!


Kirby and the Forgotten Land is coming to Nintendo Switch in spring 2022. We should hopefully get a full release date soon. You can check out the trailer below:
