After being quiet most of the time, Chad Grenier, game director of Apex Legends, has pulled back the curtain on the mobile, free-to-play shooter and he announced that beta tests will launch shortly.

Apex Legends Mobile takes the classic battle royale formula and reworks it for touchscreen controls at the forefront. The game will have no cross-play support, and instead, it will have its own unique battle passes, unlockables, and cosmetics.

Closed beta tests will kick off shortly, but Respawn will limit the player count to a few thousand players in India and the Philippines only. If you're reading this from one of these countries, make sure you join the party. The rest of us need more patience, but it will pay off.
