Blizzard claims that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has become the fastest-selling PC game ever and that it managed to beat their own Diablo III record. A bold claim indeed.

As they said, Shadowlands sold 3.7 million units on "the first day of launch", which effectively beats every other title (from a comparative standpoint). The previous record-holder Diablo III sold 3.5 million units on the day of launch back in 2012. Blizzard obtained these numbers from "sales and/or downloads, based on internal company records and reports from key distributors."

Apparently, World of Warcraft as a whole is also performing better than ever. The company claims that they have the highest number of monthly players and long-term subscriptions ever since Cataclysm launched. And this is just the beginning, we are getting a new raid today and the numbers will surely be even greater as more people jump in to take down Sire Denathrius in Castle Nathria.

Renew your subscription, trust me, the expansion kicks ass. WoW is still the king of all MMOs and that's not going to change anytime soon.
