We had a lot of metroidvanias before, but never a metroidvania that is as unique as Grime. That's what we can see so far at least and Grime is shaping up as a recognizable IP already. The game is aiming for a 2021 release on Steam.


Apart from a world filled with "face-covered deserts", "living weapons", and "weeping caves" (we're looking at you, Bioshock), the way we can acquire new skills in this game is especially stunning - we can absorb our enemies and use their powers against them. That applies to bosses too. How cool is that?


According to the publisher (Akupara Games), other platforms will be announced later, so there is some hope for console players. I can't wait to see how this concept will turn out in practice!
