What was just a leak until recently is now a full-blown confirmation. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is definitely in development by Toys for Bob and it's coming to PS4 and Xbox One.

The game is a direct sequel to the original trilogy and the team is trying to distance themselves from games that followed Crash Bandicoot: Warped, saying that their goal is to continue where Naughty Dog left off. Dr. Neo Cortex, Uka-Uka and Dr. N. Tropy have torn the fabric of space and time, causing a temporal rift along the way. This act also reveals the existence of marsupials in a multiverse. These creatures want to rule over the entire multiverse as its emperors and it's up to Crash and Coco to save the day.

Toys for Bob is aiming for a "precision gameplay we all fell in love with in the '90s". We will have a Modern mode with unlimited lives and a Retro mode with a limited number of lives for those of you who like a good challenge. The gameplay will be exactly what you expect from a Crash Bandicoot game but with some innovations, like the Quantum Masks that will players "ability to bend the rules of reality and gain advanced ways to conquer dangerous obstacles."

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is coming to PS4 and Xbox One on October 2. You can watch the trailer below:
