Now it's official - Apex Legends is getting its own sports league. That league will include both local and online events, and it will be called Apex Legends Global Series.

Respawn are planning to host 12 live events for the first year and prizes for the winners will exceed $3 million. That sure is a lot of money!

The registration will kick off in January 2020, and it will only be available to PC players.

The first online event will be live on January 25 and people from 60 countries all over the world will be able to access it. The major events (four of them in total) are scheduled for March 13-16. In order to access those, you'll need to win enough Global Series Points.

This system rewards both placement and team kills so dedicated teams who wish to participate in the event will easily get enough points to compete in majors.
