The next-generation Xbox was unveiled at The Game Awards and the name will be *surprise, surprise* Xbox. We kinda have Microsoft returning to their roots, I guess.
The company representative gave an interview for Business Insider and this is what he said about the name: "The name we're carrying forward to the next generation is simply Xbox, and at The Game Awards you saw that name come to life through the Xbox Series X."
In other words, there will be several different variants of Xbox and Series X is just one. Series E or Series S are both likely to happen as well. In any case, plain old "Xbox" sure sounds better than "Xbox One X" .Who could possibly pronounce that without giggling at least a little bit?
The console (Xbox Series X) will be released around Christmas. Thank you, Santa!
