One Pokemon Sword and Shield glitch has blocked thousands of players from participating in competitive battles
But it was "caught" on time, in a true Pokemon fashion
One Pokemon Sword and Shield managed to prevent several thousand players from taking part in the game's competitive battles. Furthermore, their progress was erased! A double bummer!
It is believed that a maintenance update for the online features of the game is what caused all this mess to occur in the first place. A fansite, Serebii.net weighed into this discussion and added that it may have just been a new rule that was set in place for the 2020 Pokemon World Championships. "I think part of it was that the ruleset accidentally allowed some Gigantamax Pokemon in and created an unfair advantage but I don't think banning was intentional. This was obviously an accident and not an intended malicious act like some are framing."
The Pokemon Company has been informed of the platform and we can only hope that the problem will be sorted out quickly.
