The newly announced Half-Life: Alyx may be a whole new beginning for the franchise.

Valve programmer, David Speyrer gave an interview for The Verge and here's what he had to say: "It's probably no surprise that many people at Valve have been wanting to get back to the Half-Life universe for a long time, and this experience has only reinforced that."

He also added that the new Half-Life game inspired the team to make new games as well - "In the process of creating Half-Life: Alyx, we've had to explore new ways to tell stories with these characters and this world. And we've discovered a lot of new gameplay experiences that go beyond what we've been able to do before."

He also concluded the interview by saying that all of the company's future projects depend on the success on this one - "We'll have to wait and see how people react to Half-Life: Alyx once it's out, but we'd love to continue pushing forward."

Half-Life: Alyx will be available on all VR platforms in March 2020.
