The game director, Naoki Yoshida has (kinda) confirmed that Square's epic MMO will be released on Sony's upcoming console - PlayStation 5. The confirmation happened during a special Final Fantasy XIV fanfest in London last evening.

Wccftech had an "agent" on the scene, and apparently, Yoshida confirmed this information right there at the spot. He also added that he hopes to return to the event next year, but in the meantime, he and his team will be working on a PS5 version of the game.

Square Enix didn't confirm anything yet, but as this came right from the game director's mouth, it has to be legit.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available on PS4 and PC, while the Xbox One version will arrive at some point in (hopefully near) future.
